Today, we have a very special guest, our longtime friend and neighbor, Barbara Owens. Mrs. Owens is that rarity: a native Washingtonian and a community anchor. She is a graduate of Spingarn High School on Benning Road. A lifelong educator, she worked with young children for many years at Catholic Charities.
She and her late husband had five children - four daughters, one of whom is deceased, and a son. And she has eight grandchildren and 11 great-grands.
