Today, we are delighted to present Part 1 of our interview with Juan Muñoz, an artist and program leader at CentroNia.
Juan Muñoz is a dynamic arts educator and community leader whose career blends creativity with service. A native of the Dominican Republic, Juan brings decades of experience in youth development and artistic expression to his role at CentroNía in Washington, DC. Beginning as a teaching assistant, he quickly became a beloved arts and history curriculum instructor. Then he rose to lead the Out-of-School Time program. Now serving as Family and Community Services Manager, Juan designs arts-integrated programs that help children and families thrive. Trained in theatre set design and graphic design—with a Kennedy Center internship to his name—Juan infuses visual storytelling and recycled materials into vibrant community projects. Through his leadership, he fosters culturally responsive relationships and empowers youth to discover their creative voices.
